Ritator’s map for University College of Arts, Crafts and Design, Stockholm, is a floor plan that incorporates lighting technology to create a map of the building.

 

With technology supplied by ABB and Thinlight, Ritator designed a map, where light cables which are electrically illuminated by pressing a button, show the way and give further information on the destination. The map was created through a time-consuming process, where light cables were either engraved or sewn onto the board. The result, however, is a beautiful and highly functional map using graphic design, cartography and engineering.
